Our Royal Pair

In days of old when knights were bold and dragons roamed the land
The princess eeked when she had peeked to see dragon by her stand.
The knight on steed rode in with speed to save the beauty fair
He’d use his sword and his reward they became a happy pair.
Now today we have no dragons for our mighty knights to slay
But I’ve heard it said some grab a pig to make his lady’s day.
Good deeds his steely armor and fair words are now his sword.
Our knight protects his lady and her love his just reward.
He'll always help a stranger; friends and family his delight
His deeds the purest metal that makes armour shine so bright.
So grab your tankard everyone and raise it high in cheer
I dub thee now Sir Skinski; Sir tis you we all hold dear.

There was a princess sweet and kind; her beauty un-compared
She met our knight and right away knew men like he are rare.
She let Sir Skinski court her; defend her honour and her life
It was not long Sir Skinski knew Princess Tripps must be his wife.
Princess Tripps adored her shining knight but first she had to know
“What can I ask for him to fetch to prove he loves me so?”
After careful thought the light did dawn, “If I just had a pig!”
“I 'd have the families over, we can roast, then dance a jig!”
Very soon our pair got married; then they had a family
Through joys and woes, love kept them strong and all lived happily.
So again I ask that we raise a glass for our princess so renown
I also ask for purest gold to make her a fitting crown.

The New I

Like a soft sweet melody you wrap around my soul
You fill my being with such love together we are whole.
Your soulful eyes a mirror, reflecting back to me
A gentle love so sweet yet strong it sets my being free.
Deep inner spirits now entwine-till they are as one
Each thinking they were I before-but I they both become.
I breathe in your souls beauty, feel the essence of true peace
The life long search for my true love finally can cease.

My Royal Purrrrrson

I live now with a fur ball; Miss Shelly is her name
Please don't tell her she's a cat; she thinks we're all the same
To her there’s just one difference; her blood's the royal kind
I'm here to do her bidding if I'd simply read her mind.
Her food should be the very best; of course I am to know
I must never serve a flavour, two times in a row!
My princess has a "special spot"; it's exactly where she chooses
She’ll teach you very quickly, don’t disturb her when she snoozes.
As she heads to her “facilities”, you best have cleaned it chum
For where you find the “unclean stuff” you’ll find no princess bum.
When Her Majesty has done her “job”, I'd best be close to hear
Her royal thumping on the box, that is my cue to clear.
If one should get too busy, while sitting at one’s desk
She’ll climb upon her throne by me and tap me on the neck.
This time she’d like to go outside, for this I must go too
For if the wind should touch her fur, she almost has a poo!
This usually is the evening time, and as she quickly runs inside
Madam heads to her favorite bed; my sharing she abides
When I think she is too spoiled, to the point of utter pain
That's when she nuzzles in my neck and “sings” a sweet refrain.
She’ll “mark” me with her soft furred head saying, “You are mine”
I am humbled by her trusting love; we’re together all is fine.

The Spirit Cries For Freedom

Each artist hears the pleading cry they cannot help but heed
Spirits held imprisoned are now calling to be freed.
They may have waited centuries for the gifted one to near
The spirit feels excitement for it knows this one will hear.
The draw to just a certain piece, for the artist is so strong
The spirit now is ready to guide gifted hands along.
The chisel renders wood apart with each hard yet well-placed stroke
With softer taps and gouging, falls away the wooden cloak.
Excitement grows in heart and hand; release is very near
The carvers’ eyes are filled with awe as the spirit now appears.
The beauty of the spirit, borne of patience while confined
Is more enhanced by the carvers’ soul; forever they’re entwined.

Written with love for Bob, a most gifted carver.

The Sunset

My most favourite place is on the shore of the Bay of Fundy especially at sunset. I just find it the perfect place to clear my mind and to reflect on the blessings in my life.
Margie

The Sunset

I heard and watched the waves play tag with pebbles on the shore
Their bubbling sound of laughter rippled to my spirit's core.
Seagulls schreech across the sky as they hearlded end of day
A breeze for one last bit of fun, lightly tossed cool spray.
The pungent smell of of sea salt had come along with breeze
It's sharpness sloughs away the day, until I am at ease.
Bright colours splash across the sky they run to clouds to play
The show off even brighter hues as sunset's on it's way.
A tree nearby hold tiny birds that sing in harmony
A sweet and perfect lullaby the Father wrote for me.
The sun pulls up dark velvet night, the moon begins to crest
The world becomes more quiet; it is time for all to rest.
